Play & Train
At Paws & Play Dog Resort & Training Center, we are constantly continuing education, doing case studies, and diving head first into the latest canine cognition research. All our programs and techniques are science based and tailored to the individual dog and family. All of which is the basis for our newest training program: Play & Train!
Recent scientific studies show that dogs display accelerated learning and retain up to 40% more information per session when training is done in shorter sessions roughly a week apart and, end in play or a fun activity.
This program is great for teaching basic and advanced skills like sit, down, come, stay, heel, leave-it, place, and more. It’s also a great program for helping dogs with socialization to humans and other dogs. Some behavior modification can be addressed during this program. The Play & Train program includes five weeks (1 session per week) in the following order:
Session 1 (Week 1)
A scheduled one hour, one-on-one Private Lesson with your dog’s trainer. You and your trainer will discuss your goals, training tools, and techniques. Your trainer will also teach you everything you need to know to be successful throughout the remainder or your program.
Session 2 (Week 2)
A full day of Day Care and a training session with your trainer. You will drop off your furry student in the morning and they will stay in our care for the remainder of the day enjoying a full day of Day Care. Your student’s trainer will work with them throughout the day. You will receive feedback and homework from their teacher when you pick up at the end of the day.
Session 3 (Week 3)
A full day of Day Care and a training session with your trainer. You will drop off your furry student in the morning and they will stay in our care for the remainder of the day enjoying a full day of Day Care. Your student’s trainer will work with them throughout the day. You will receive feedback and homework from their teacher when you pick up at the end of the day.
Session 4 (Week 4)
A full day of Day Care and a training session with your trainer. You will drop off your furry student in the morning and they will stay in our care for the remainder of the day enjoying a full day of Day Care. Your student’s trainer will work with them throughout the day. You will receive feedback and homework from their teacher when you pick up at the end of the day.
Session 5 (Week 5)
A final scheduled one hour, one-on-one Private Lesson with your dog’s trainer. You and your trainer will discuss progress, continuation of training, and answer any questions you may have.
Your student’s trainer is available to you during and after every program. They are committed to helping your family and your dog succeed. Additional Play & Train days are available.
